How You Configure Manual Approval for a Development Goal Approval Condition

By default, manual approvals are disabled for development goal transactions. As an administrator, you need to edit both the delivered manual, and autoapproval rules to enable manual approval for an approval condition.

You need to ensure that both the manual and autoapproval rules are mutually exclusive. This way only one rule satisfies the approval condition of a development goal at any given time. You also need to disable the Bypass Approvals setting for the Approve Development Goal task. This ensures the application of any rule configuration that you make.

Let's assume that your organization wants to ensure that managers approve all new development goals created by employees who report to them. To achieve this, as administrators you need to do these tasks:

  1. Configure rules for the Approve Development Goal task.

  2. Disable automatic approval of new development goals.

  3. Enable manual approval for addition of development goals.

  4. Save and submit your changes.
