How You Add Participants and Roles

As a manager, HR specialist, or employee, you can add people to the list of participants to provide feedback about the employee.

You can add any number of participants to the list of participants. You can add a participant more than once for the same document, either using the same role or another role. If a minimum number is required, it's only a guideline; you can complete the task without the minimum required feedback.

You can remove participants from the list before the participants provide feedback. After the participant has saved or submitted feedback, only the HR specialist can remove the participant and feedback.

You can search for people to add as participants, or choose them from the following categories, if you enable the categories using Transaction Design Studio:

  • Suggestions (based on who you previously selected as participants for the worker)

  • Peers

  • Direct Reports

  • Matrix Managers

When you add a participant, you need to select a role for them. If there's only one participant role available, then it becomes the default automatically. The role determines which sections of the performance document the participants use to provide feedback. You can change the participant role if the participant hasn't started and saved or submitted the feedback.
