How does Grow generate learning recommendations for your current role and career of interest?
The Recommendation Profiles application identifies skill gaps and generates learning recommendations by:
- Comparing the required skills in a role's job profile or position profile with the skills attained in an employee's talent profile. Skills that the employee hasn't attained are identified as skill gaps.
- Comparing required proficiency levels with the employee's attained proficiency levels, when both levels are defined. If the employee's proficiency level is lower than the required level, the skill is identified as a gap.
- If proficiency levels aren't defined in either profile, only the attained skills are compared, as in step 1.
Learning recommendations for skill gaps in your current role appear in the Development resources for your role swim lane. Recommendations for skill gaps in your career of interest appear in the Skills and qualifications for the {CAREER_OF_INTEREST} role swim lane.
A few points to note:
- If a learner enrolls in the recommended learning from the swim lane or directly from the Learning application, the recommendation is removed from the swim lane.
- If a learner completes the learning but the associated skill isn't added to their talent profile (due to a setting in the course), the skill continues to be treated as a gap and similar recommendations may continue to appear.
