How do I configure a Touchpoints check-in template?
While configuring the check-in template, you can include skills, competencies and questionnaire sections for workers and managers to be added as discussion topics.
- Go to Home > My Client Groups > Performance, scroll down to the Setup Maintenance section and click Check-In Templates.
- Click Create to create a new template.
- Enter a name for the template, and add comments, if any.
- Select the template type as Performance or Touchpoints.
- Optionally, select Use in team sync to create a template specific for Team Sync discussions.
- From the Status list, select where the template is active or inactive.
- In the From Date and To Date fields, specify the period during which an employee or manager can create check-in documents from this template.

Select the specific performance review periods from the Review
Periods list to associate with the template. You can choose
All Review Periods or Specific Review
Periods options. The Select Review Periods list
appears if you choose a specific review period. See .
Note:
- If you dissociate a check-in template from a review period, there's no impact on employees' existing check-in documents.
- You can specify or change review periods even if a check-in template is inactive. These review periods will come into effect when the template is activated later.
- When you change the review period of a check-in template, existing check-in documents created using that check-in template will have no impact. However, new check-in documents created using the updated template will reflect the updated review period.
- Select the manager types from the Manager Types list to associate with the template. You can choose all manager types or specific manager types. If you choose specific manager types, the Specific Manager Type list appears, where you can select specific managerial roles.
- Select Include in Performance Document to automatically include a check-in document created from this template in a performance document.
- Select Create meeting invite to download an .ics file to save to your calendar.

Create Check-In
Employees or managers can create a check-in document using this template.
Delete Check-In
Employees or managers can delete a check-in document using this template, but only the person who created the check-in can do so.
Close Check-In
Employees or managers can close a check-in based on this template.
Reopen Check-In
Employees or managers can make a check-in editable again by reopening it.

Select one or more options under the Questionnaire visibility and rules of the
Check-In content section as shown in the table to enable questionnaire in a check-in
document.

Specify a questionnaire for the manager or employee, or both.
Enable mark as done
Allow a manager or an employee to set a questionnaire as done.
Hide questionnaire from manager until mark as done
Hides the worker questionnaire from the manager until it is marked as done in the check-in document.
Hide questionnaire from worker until mark as done
Hides the manager questionnaire from the worker until it is marked as done in the check-in document.

General discussion topics
Employees or managers can create general discussion topics in the check-in document.
Performance goals
Employees or managers can create discussion topics for their active performance goals in the check-in document.
Add default discussion topics for performance goals
Automatically creates discussion topics for performance goals in the review period in the check-in document.
Development goals
Employees or managers can create discussion topics for their active development goals in the check-in document.
Add default discussion topics for development goals
Automatically creates discussion topics for active development goals in the check-in document.
General discussion topics
Employees or managers can create general discussion topics in the check-in document.
Anytime Feedback
Employees or manager can provide feedback at any time.
Requested Feedback
Employees or manager can provide feedback only on request.
Talent Profile Competencies
Enables talent profile competencies, which are defined by the employee or manager in their Talent Profile
Position Profile Competencies
Enables position profile competencies, which are defined by the organization required for the grade or position the employee or manager is in.
Job Profile Competencies
Enables job profile competencies, which are defined by the organization as required for the job of the employee or manager.
Skills in Skills Center
Adds dynamic skills from Skills Center to the check-ins as discussion topics.
Include AI related topics
Use Generative AI to suggest topics tailored to the employee's job profile, position profile, and department.

Specify pending or overdue actions.

Specify the number of past months to include as discussion topics. You can enter up to a maximum of 12 months.

In the Suggested actions based on check-in discussion
section, select whether you want to display performance goals, development goals, or
both as follow-up actions after a check-in discussion is over.
Note: This step is applicable to Touchpoints only.
- Enable the Show Attachments option in the Attachments section to enable the check-in participants to upload an attachments to a check-in
- Enable the Upload meeting transcript option in the Transcript section to allow check-in participants to upload a meeting transcript to a check-in
- Click Add Eligibility Profile and select one or more eligibility profiles.

Choose the selected eligibility profiles to make the template available to eligible
employees who meet one or more eligibility criteria
For example, if you want only Sales employees who are either in the UK or the US to create check-in documents, add the Sales, UK, and US eligibility profiles to the template, and make the Sales eligibility profile as Required, but not the UK or US profiles.
Note: Ensure you schedule the eligibility batch process to assign check-in templates to eligible profiles. - Click Submit.
What to do next
You must run the eligibility batch process to determine eligible workers for check-in documents using eligibility profiles. To do so, use the Eligibility Batch Process task in the Setup Maintenance work area. See Run the Eligibility Batch Process.Related Topics
