Overriding a Selection Step with a Column Prompt

This procedure does not include information about selection steps or hierarchical columns. For information about column prompts and selection steps, see "Overriding a Selection Step With a Column Prompt".

You must have one of the following user type permissions:
  • BI Author Limited

  • BI Author Developer

  • BI Tenant Administrator

  1. To create an analysis with selection steps, either create a new analysis or access an existing analysis to which you want to add selection steps. The Analysis Editor is displayed.
  2. After you have specified the columns for the analysis, navigate to the Selection Steps pane and specify the selection steps for the analysis.
  3. Determine which selection step you want to override with a column prompt and click its Edit button. The New Member Step dialog is displayed.
  4. Select the Override with prompt box. Click OK and save the analysis.
    Note: The Override with prompt box is not available in certain circumstances. It is unavailable for a rank template (for example, is ranked first or is ranked last) within a conditional selection step. It is also unavailable for a match template for a hierarchical column.
