Functional Currency and Functional Amount

Functional currency is a standardized amount as specified in domain settings. It is also stored in the database and is intended to be used as an accounting currency. Functional amount is the calculated amount.

There is a Set Exchange Rate action available from various business objects. This is used to select the specific exchange rate to be used for conversions. For example, this can be found by navigating to Shipment Manager > Actions > Financials > Utilities > Set Exchange Rate. There is a Set Related Objects check box, which when selected will set the exchange rate on related invoices and bills and all their related objects.

Functional amount is displayed in the Financials tab of the Shipment Manager. In the Cost section, under Shipment cost, click the view icon. A pop-up appears and displays the Functional Amount.
