Expire Capacity Limit

Use this option if you want to change the expiration date for the time period of available capacity for the Capacity Limit ID that you have selected. Do this if you want to remove the portion of capacity that has yet to be allocated. This page is accessed via Operational Planning > Capacity Management > Capacity Limits > Actions > Expire Capacity Limit.

To manually expire a capacity limit, you must observe the following constraints:

  • The capacity expiration date must be a date in the current period or in the future. It cannot be expired.
  • The new Capacity Expiration Date must be the last date of a valid time period.
  • Only capacity usage data that has never been used can be deleted. For example, if, during a nine-month period, you have recurring capacity usage of 10 planned or actual shipments for the next six months but 0 for the three months after that, you can only delete capacity after the six months of usage have passed. However, if you override capacity and change the sixth month from 10 to 0, you can manually expire capacity from the end of the fifth month through the rest of the nine-month period.
