Temperature Control

This page is accessed via Operational Planning> Power Data > Planning > Temperature Control.

Temperature control data lets you define specific temperature settings that equipment can provide during transportation. The temperature control is assigned to an equipment group that describes specific equipment such as refrigerated trucks that can be used to transport perishable goods. You can define both minimum and maximum temperatures for equipment.

Equipment groups with temperature controls can then be assigned to shipments, and Oracle Transportation Management uses both the group and its temperature control to determine if individual or bundled orders can be moved together as part of planning. If an order has temperature controlled items, those temperature controls must overlap with temperature controls for the equipment group.

Note: If there is no temperature control specified on the equipment group, it means no constraint and is considered compatible.

Defining Temperature Control

  1. Enter a Temperature Control ID.
  2. Enter a Temperature Control Name.
  3. Enter a Minimum Temperature and select whether the temperature is in Fahrenheit, Celsius, or degrees Kelvin.
  4. Enter the Maximum Temperature and indicate the scale at for the temperature.
  5. Click Finished.
