Order Management

Unassign Order Release (From Buy or Sell Shipment)

This page is accessed via the Order Release Manager (accessed via Order Management > Order Release > Order Release). Click Actions. Then select Order Management > Unassign Order Release > Unassign and Retain Order Movements.

Use this action to unassign an order release from an existing shipment and retain order movements. This should only be used if you use order movements for planning. If not, use the Unassign Order action.

If a shipment is comprised of multiple order releases, Oracle Transportation Management removes only the details of the order release that you are unassigning. For example, Oracle Transportation Management removes all ship units or lines that are associated with the order release only. Oracle Transportation Management also re-assigns a service provider and recalculates service time and cost for any shipment (or downstream shipment) that is impacted by unassigning the order release. The status value for the SHIPMENT MODIFIED status type is also set to SHIPMENT MODIFIED_MODIFIED.

However, if the shipment contains only one order release that is unassigned or if this is the last order release left on the shipment, Oracle Transportation Management deletes the shipment from the database if it is a planned shipment. Oracle Transportation Management will not delete a SAW (Shipment as Work).

The selected orders will be unassigned from all their related shipments and order movements. All related shipments with no remaining orders are also removed and all ship unit lines related to the order being unassigned will be removed from the shipment ship unit. Shipments with remaining orders are re-rated and downstream shipments are re-driven. If one of the selected orders has order movements, the status of its order movements will be set to OM_PLANNING-UNSCHEDULED, and the status of the order will stay as PLANNED-FINAL.

When an order release is unassigned, the system checks for existing accruals. If an accrual exists, it will determine if the accrual was sent. If the accrual has been sent, a new reversal accrual is created using the inverse of the freight cost sent. The Reversal check box will be selected on the new reversal accrual which is visible when viewing an order release. If an accrual has not been sent, the accrual is deleted.

Oracle Transportation Management also removes the Assigned Itinerary from the order release.

After you initiate this action, Oracle Transportation Management displays a page showing the Shipment ID and other details from which the order release was removed.
