Orientation for Load Configuration

This page is accessed via Operational Planning > Power Data > Load Configuration > Orientation.

There are six pre-defined orientations available. They are for use with the 3D Placement type of Load Configuration. They pertain to rectangular objects only; for example, refrigerators and plasma televisions. An item is associated with an orientation in Ship Unit Specifications. You can also create a ship unit specification orientation profile.

Orientations can be upright, on side or prone and then either lengthwise or widthwise.

  • Upright has a unit standing so looking at the face of the object, you have the height and the length. Length is the longest non-height dimension.
  • On side would have the height on the floor of a trailer, length would be the height while it is laying down and width would be against the nose of the trailer.
  • Prone has an item face down. The height is on the floor of the trailer, as in on side, but the width would be the height while laying down and length would be against the nose of the trailer.

New orientations cannot be added and only a DBA can edit the existing ones.
