Mail Failures

This page is accessed via Business Process Automation > Power Data > Mail Management > Mail Failures.

This page allows you to see email recipients with a failed outbound mail request. That is, mail recipients that had at least one failed outbound mail attempt due to an addressing failure, possibly because of OCI mail suppression. The page displays a total count of failures sorted in descending order from last failure time, some of which may be due to OCI mail suppression. For each address pair, the page shows:

  • the number of suppressions
  • the # of failures due to OCI Mail suppression
  • the time of the first failure
  • the time of the last failure
  • whether the recipient email is suppressed on OCI
  • the time a user last unsuppressed the recipient e-mail from OCI mail suppression
  • the # of failures since the last unsuppression
  • the # of failures due to OCI Mail suppression since the last unsuppression
  • if the sender is invalid. This is selected if the From address has not been registered as a valid sender in OCI for this cloud account.
  • if the recipient is suppressed. This is selected if the To address is marked as suppressed in OCI Mail.

For any address pair, the you may reset statistics, deleting the pair. If the recipient is suppressed in OCI, you may also unsuppress the recipient, asking OCI to release it from OCI suppression.

The screen may also be used to query OCI mail suppression status for mail recipients that have yet to experience any failures. By entering an email and tabbing out of the field, the system shows its mail suppression status. If suppressed, it can be unsuppressed.
