Update Classification Code

This page is accessed via Classification > Process Management > Product Classification > Update Classification Code.

Use this process to update product classifications.

Updating Classification Codes

  1. Select a saved query from the Based on drop-down list.
  2. Select a product classification type from the Product Classification Type drop-down list.
  3. Enter the current code in the Current Product Classification Code field.
  4. Enter the new classification in the New Product Classification Code field.
  5. Enter any notes to the Classification Notes field.
  6. Enter a description in the Customs Description text box.
  7. Enter a number in the Binding Ruling Number field. Binding rulings could be used to justify a decision to use a particular product classification code for a particular item.
  8. Enter the date from when the binding ruling is effective in the Binding Ruling Effective Date field.
  9. Enter the date till when the binding ruling is effective in the Binding Ruling Expiration Date field.
  10. Enter a rule ID in the Tariff Rules of Interpretation ID field.
  11. If you are running cluster scalability, specify a cluster to which this request should be assigned.
  12. Enter a User Role. When you run, publish, or schedule a recurring process, you can specify the user role used to perform the process, just like when you run agents. The user role can be used to specify a separate VPD role or another domain to run the agent. When a recurring process is modified, the user role of the recurring process can be modified as well.
  13. Select a Log Profile to generate focused logging when reproducing an error for the specific action. You cannot select a log profile when you choose to schedule a process, as automatic generation of action logs is not supported.
  14. Select Execute, Publish, or Schedule to determine when the process will be executed.
  15. Click Submit.
