Tariff Rules of Interpretation

This page is accessed via Master Data > Power Data > Product Classification > Tariff Rules of Interpretation.

The rules of interpretation could be used to justify classification decisions. There are several general rules of interpretation defined by the World Customs Organization (WCO) apart from country-specific rules of interpretation.

Adding a Tariff Rule of Interpretation

  1. Enter a unique identifier in the Tariff Rules of Interpretation ID field. You will use this ID when you refer to this rule of interpretation on other pages.
  2. Enter a name of the rule in the Rule Name field.
  3. Enter a code which will be used externally for this rule in the External Code field.
  4. Enter a product classification type in the Product Classification Type ID field. (Note: Provide a classification type if the rule is applicable for a specific country or region.)
  5. Enter an URL in the Reference URL field.
  6. Enter additional information about the rule in the Description field.
  7. Enter an explanation about the rule in the Explanation field.
  8. Select a domain in which this rule will be active from the Domain Name drop-down list.
  9. Click Finished.
