Buyer Templates

This page is accessed via Brokerage and Forwarding > Customer Management > Buyer > Template tab.

This page allows you to set up Buyer Templates and Service Templates. Generally, you would set up one type or the other. The Buyer template is primarily for service providers and is for sellers to customers. The Service template is primarily for your customers only.

Set up a Buyer template to attach an order template to an order based on the mode and move perspective of the order. The appropriate template (based on the mode and move perspective of the order) is applied to the order each time the buyer is assigned as an involved party on the order. If a buyer is assigned as an involved party on the order, Oracle Transportation Management looks to see if there is an active template for the particular mode and perspective. If Oracle Transportation Management finds an active template for the mode and perspective on the order, it is applied to the order based on how the Buyer Template Copy Type field is set on the customer. Otherwise, no template will be attached.

Attaching an Order Template to a Buyer

1. Specify what Transport Mode the template is for.
2. Specify what Move Perspective the template is for.
3. Select the Order Template that is to be applied for that Transport mode and Move Perspective. If you are creating a new order template, make sure there are no templates attached already to the customer.

   Note: The order template list only displays order templates that have been designated as a buyer template.

4. Select the Active check box if the buyer template is active.

Service Templates

Set up a Service template to attach an order template to an order based on the buyer (destination location) and the service. The appropriate template is applied to the order each time the buyer (destination location) is assigned on the order. Additionally, you can specify the source location and/or the packaged item to further constrain the application of the template. Oracle Transportation Management looks to see if there is an active template for the particular mode and perspective. If Oracle Transportation Management finds an active template with the relevant criteria, it is applied to the order based on how the Service Copy Type field is set on the Buyer (header tab). Otherwise, no template will be attached.

Attaching a Service Template to a Buyer

1. Specify what Source Location the template is for.
2. Specify what Packaged Item the template is for.
3. Enter a Service ID.
4. Select the Active check box if the service template is active.
