Location Manager: Load/Unload Points

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Location Manager. This is on the Load/Unload Points tab.

Load/Unload Points are specific loading and unloading points assigned to a location. It provides a detailed view of the location giving the precise point to load and unload cargo. For example, if your location is a distribution center, your load points could be docks 1-5, and your unload points could be docks 6-10. Load/unload points can be docks, doors, terminals, and so on at a location.

Defining Load/Unload Points

  1. Enter an ID for the load/unload point.
  2. Enter a Description for the load/unload point.
  3. Find or create an Equipment Group Profile for the load/unload point. You can specify if certain equipment can service a particular load/unload point. For example, if you use the Equipment Group Profile on this page, and the profile you use is defined as not compatible, then any equipment that is part of the profile will not be able to stop at this load/unload point.
  4. If the point can be a load point, select the Pickup check box.
  5. If you have more than one load point, specify the Pickup Sequence.
  6. If the point can be a dropoff point, select the Dropoff check box.
  7. If you have more than one unload point, specify the Dropoff Sequence. This allows you, for example, to have a shipment going to location BOS with separate dropoffs at unload point 1 and unload point 2, with you specifying which dropoff it should go to first.
  8. Click Save for each load/unload point that you define.
