Adding Equipment to an Order

This page is accessed via Brokerage and Forwarding > Booking > Freight Forwarding. Then click New Equipment.

Use this page to have an order release ship on specific equipment. The equipment that you enter here will override any equipment specified on either the parent order base or itinerary (in the Equipment Group Profile).

1. Assign a Sequence number for each piece of equipment that you enter. This number precedes the equipment group choices that appear in the Order Release Equipment ID field on the Ship Unit tab. The Order Release Equipment ID field on the Ship Unit page lets you specify an equipment assignment for each ship unit if you define multiple equipment and the order release has multiple ship units.
2. Enter an Equipment Group and optionally specify an Equipment Type. Specifying a Container Number is useful if you assign more than one of the same Equipment Group. For example, if you assign two 53FT containers, you may want to uniquely identify one container from the other using the Container Number.

When you identify equipment on the order, Oracle Transportation Management skips the container optimization process when building shipments. Also, the Container Number and Seal Number will be copied to the shipment.

Seal Number

1. Enter the seal number with which the equipment for the order is associated.
2. Click Save to save the seal number.
