Offset Definition

This page is accessed via Contract and Rate Management > Power Data > General > Offset Definition.

Use this page to define offsets which will be used in calculating demurrage charges by considering the offset. Offset specifies when the demurrage clock starts. For example, you can specify that if a car comes in before 5:00 PM, the clock will start the next day at 12:01 AM. If the car comes in after 5:00 PM, the clock will start at 12:01 AM two days later.

If the start event date/time is 21st of May at 9:30 and if offset days are defined as 2 days and the time is set to '18:00' then, the offset date/time will become 23rd of May at 18:00.

If no override definition matches with a given offset and start event date/time, then OTM will get the day of the week of the start event date and check if it matches any day of week defined in the offset definition. If so, it will take the offset days defined for it and append it to the start event date/time, and it will set the time to the offset time defined.

Finally, if no override definition matches, OTM will return the given start event date/time as offset date/time without any change.

Integration to the offset definition is done while defining the demurrage rules. This is used while determining the dwell days and free days while calculating demurrage charges.
