Standard or Consolidated
Select which type of invoice or bill to create:
- To create an invoice or bill for a single shipment, select Standard.
- To create an invoice or bill that combines the charges of multiple shipments, select Consolidated.
Standard
A standard invoice is a stand-alone invoice that can be matched to a single buy shipment. A standard bill is a stand-alone bill that is generated from a single sell shipment.
When you create a standard invoice or bill, you need to enter dates, charges, items, and other data for the invoice or bill.
Consolidated
A consolidated invoice combines the charges of a number of related buy shipments. If you specify a consolidated invoice, you are asked to find the shipments to consolidate into one invoice. The shipments you select must have the same service provider. Each consolidated invoice is a parent invoice, and each shipment related to the parent invoice has its own child invoice, which is used for invoice-to-shipment matching.
A consolidated bill combines the costs of a group of related sell shipments. Each consolidated bill is a parent bill, and each shipment related to the parent bill has its own child bill.
