Mapping of Oracle Transportation Management Business Intelligence Role to Oracle Analytics Cloud Application Role

Note:

If you want to move from Oracle Analytics Server to Oracle Analytics Cloud, when the switch over takes place, Oracle Transportation Management will point to Oracle Analytics Cloud and all the actions will run via Oracle Analytics Cloud.

Oracle Transportation Management Business Intelligence role in User Manager is associated with Oracle Analytics Cloud application role in the following way:

Oracle Transportation Management Business Intelligence role > Oracle Identity Cloud Service group > Oracle Analytics Cloud application role.

This will help to associate the Oracle Transportation Management users to Oracle Analytics Cloud application role when it's provisioned instead of Oracle Analytics Server.

You must run the Synchronize User action for the DBA.ADMIN user to assign an Oracle Analytics Cloud role. The admin user will not have any Oracle Analytics Cloud role associated with it as part of provisioning.

Note:

Prerequisite: An external system should be set up in Oracle Transportation Management and the corresponding property in custom property set should be added.

  1. Sign in as a DBA.ADMIN user.
  2. Navigate to the User Manager.
  3. Search for the "DBA.ADMIN" user and edit it.
  4. Add the following details to the DBA.ADMIN user:
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Nickname
    • Email Address
    • The Business Intelligence Role should be added under "Business Intelligence Role" (BIADMINISTRATOR, BIAUTHOR, BICONSUMER).
  5. Click Finished.

Once the action is successful, the DBA user will get mapped to the corresponding Oracle Analytics Cloud Business Intelligence Roles and the user can access Analytics.

Note:

As Oracle Identity Cloud Service is common for all the pods (PRODUCTION, TEST and DEVELOPMENT) in customer tenancy, any customer who has multiple DEVELOPMENT pods will have same Business Intelligence role set for the user in both the DEVELOPMENT pods. This applies for TEST pods as well, if the customer has multiple TEST pods.

For example:

Suppose a customer has 2 DEVELOPMENT pods, DEV1 and DEV2.

In DEV1, Oracle Transportation Management User1 (nickname: UserAdmin@123.com) is given a BIADMINISTRATOR role which will associate with OTMBIAdministrator_DEVELOPMENT Oracle Identity Cloud Service group, and in turn associate with BIAdministrator Oracle Analytics Cloud application role.

In DEV2, if Oracle Transportation Management User1 (nickname: UserAdmin@123.com) is given a BICONSUMER role, then the user will get both BIConsumer and BIAdministrator Oracle Analytics Cloud roles in both DEV1 and DEV2 instances automatically.

This happens as Oracle Transportation Management User1 associates with the same Oracle Identity Cloud Service user (UserAdmin@123.com), which is associated with the same Oracle Identity Cloud Service group.
