Setting up Oracle Transportation Management

Once OTM is installed, you need to create both static and transactional data before you can start planning shipments. The data can be broken down into the following categories:

  1. Domain, User, and UI Configuration: You need to make decisions about domains and users. In addition, you can configure the user interface for specific users and roles.
  2. Business Modeling: Business modeling is where you define data in OTM to model the business process of orders and shipments in your company. This includes locations, items, equipment, rates, itineraries, etc.
  3. Order Management: Order management is where you create order bases and order releases.
  4. Transport Planning: Transport planning is where you build shipments, modify shipments, and work with order movements.
  5. Shipment Execution: Shipment execution is where you tender shipments and move shipments to their final destinations.
