Scheduling Batch Processes

The Process Management menu links provide the scheduling options that control when certain processes occur. For example, you can control when Oracle Transportation Management creates order releases, builds and tenders shipments, generates invoices, etc.

The following options exist for scheduling batch processing:

  • Execute: Runs the process immediately on the current server.
  • Publish: If your system is running in a scalability environment, choosing Publish sends the process to a queue where it will be picked up by a server that is not busy.
  • Schedule: this option lets you determine the exact day and time to initiate a batch process or to define a specific time interval when the batch process initiates. You cannot select a log profile when you choose to schedule a process, as automatic generation of action logs is not supported.
  1. Enter a date/time in the At field followed by a value in the Every field and a qualifier of weeks, days, hours, minutes or seconds to define a specific time interval.
  2. Enter a date/time in the Until field, indicating when the process should stop.
  3. Click Submit to save the schedule.
  4. Click Clear to remove the entries for the current saved schedule.
