Export/Import: Bulk Plan Order Releases

If your OTM order releases are not planning as expected and you need to share your planning data, you can use the export/import planning data functionality. Optionally, you can mask your data during export to clear or replace sensitive data like locations, service providers, and contacts with fictitious data.

You can use the Export Planning Data and Importing Planning Data pages to do the following:

1. Export order releases, a related parameter set, and any data required for bulk planning those order releases.
2. Import the exported data into a new domain.
3. Bulk plan the order releases.

Exporting Data

First, you export order releases, a related parameter set, and any data required for bulk planning those order releases. Based on the order release saved query provided, OTM finds all the required rates, itineraries, and other data used by OTM planning. Optionally you can provide saved queries for rate records and itineraries.

1. Navigate to Operational Planning > Planning Data Import / Export > Export Planning Data. You see the Export Data to Zip File Input page.
2. Select an export Domain.
3. Select an Export Type of Bulk Plan Order Releases.
4. Select an Object Type of Order Release.
5. Specify an order release saved query. For example, you could use a query which limits results by domain name and early pickup date.
6. Specify a Parameter Set with the necessary parameters set to bulk plan the order releases that are selected by the order release saved query.
7. Click Export and save the resulting .zip file locally. You will use this file on the import planning data page.

Masking your Data

To mask some of the sensitive data while exporting, select the Apply Data Masking checkbox to mask specific data in the exported .csv files.

Importing Data

Import the zip file to any OTM server running the same version of OTM as the export domain.

1. Ensure that you have a newly created domain into which to import the planning data.
2. Navigate to Operational Planning > Planning Data Import/Export > Import Planning Data. You see the first Import Planning Data page.
3. Select a Transaction Type of IU.
4. For an Input Zip file, select the file that you downloaded previously.
5. Click Upload and the page updates to show new input fields.
6. For a From Domain, select the domain that you selected in step #2 during the export.
7. For a To Domain, select the domain created for step #1 above.
8. Click Submit.

Bulk Plan the Imported Order Releases

Once the data is imported, you can run the bulk plan as follows:

1. Navigate to Order Management > Order Release > Order Release and search for the imported order releases using the same saved query used for the export.
2. Select the order releases and click Actions > Operational Planning > Create Buy Shipment > Bulk Plan - Buy.
3. On the Shipment Planning input page, select the Parameter Set ID using the same parameter set used for the export.
4. View the results of the Bulk Plan.
