Assign Compatible Equipment

Use this action to assign equipment to a shipment based on the equipment's past load history. This action allows you to ensure the shipment's compatibility with the equipment.
Assign Compatible Equipment
This action is similar to the Assign Equipment (to Shipment) action for fleet. However, it functions independently of fleet’s constraints. Instead, it uses the equipment’s past load history to determine the shipment's compatibility with the equipment, based on the residue in each compartment.
This action has three levels of compatibility constraints:
- Packaged Item: The equipment’s load history includes packaged item details by compartment from previous shipments. Compatibility is checked by comparing these details with the current shipment’s load. The Packaged Item Residue Compatibility feature is used for this.
- Commodity: The load history also contains commodity details by compartment. Compatibility is assessed by checking if the commodity in previous shipments matches the current shipment’s load.
- Compartment Type: The compartment type of the equipment’s previous loads is compared to the shipment’s compartment type for compatibility.
Note: If the equipment is cleaned after the previous shipments, then the packaged item constraint will be ignored. When multiple equipment options meet one or more of these constraints, the oldest equipment (based on arrival date) will be assigned. If no arrival date is available, the application will assign the first equipment in the list.
