Add Additional Duty Lines
This page is accessed via Transactions > Trade Transaction Lines > Actions > Compliance > Add Additional Duty Lines.
Use this action to derive the value of steel/aluminium/copper content in imported goods and use it for filing customs.
Adding Additional Duty Lines
- Enter a classification type in the Product Classification Type field. This is used to derive the primary classification code from the transaction line.
- Enter a qualifier in the Value Qualifier ID field.
- Do one of the following:
- In the Enter Penalty Codes section, do the following:
- Enter a classification code in the Penalty Code field to be used to derive the tariff rate for duty calculation.
- Enter a value in the Percentage Value field. This, along with the value qualifier entered in the earlier step, are used to calculate the value of steel/aluminium/copper content from the original transaction line.
- Click Save.
- Click Add Additional Lines.
OR
- Click Fetch Penalty Codes. The application derives the penalty classification codes based on the primary classification code and the country of origin on the transaction line. The process is as follows:
Based on the primary classification code, the tariff rates are retrieved.
The country of origin on the transaction line should match with the tariff countries of the corresponding trade program.
If the country of origin matches, the corresponding penalty code of the tariff rate is considered as a potential duty.
The application displays the penalty code, its description, related trade program short name, and the percentage tariff rate.- Select the required penalty code from the list.
- Enter a value in the Percentage Value field. This, along with the value qualifier entered in the earlier step, are used to calculate the value of steel/aluminium/copper content from the original transaction line.
- Click Save.
- Click Add Additional Lines.
- In the Enter Penalty Codes section, do the following:
Additional duty lines are created, and filing details are copied over from the original transaction line to the new lines.
