Logistics Network Modeling
About the Supply Chain Planning Integration
The Fusion Supply Chain Planning integration allows you to forecast transportation capacities in Oracle Transportation and Global Trade Management (OTM) using orders from Fusion Supply Chain Planning. The integration pulls forecast orders from Fusion Supply Chain Planning into OTM, allowing for modeling scenarios to determine equipment capacity needs (under/over) on lanes. Both outbound demand and inbound supply forecasts are supported. After bulk plan scenarios complete, forecast Modeling Shipments are viewable via DV dashboards and accessible through outbound APIs.
Note: This feature is available to customers subscribed to both Fusion Supply Chain Planning and Oracle Transportation and Global Trade Management.
The Process
To see forecast Modeling Shipments in a DV dashboard, complete the following process.
- Pull Orders from the Supply Chain Planning Console.
- View the Forecast Order Data ID.
- Use an Order Release Finder to view the orders that you just pulled from Fusion Supply Chain Planning. You can use the Insert Time or Plan ID to search for orders recently added to a forecast domain.
- Create an OTM saved query containing the order releases that you want to run the Modeling Scenario Bulk Plan action for.
- Generate ship units for all of those order releases. You can either create an automation agent or run the Generate Ship Unit action.
- Create a Logistics Network Modeling Project.
- On the modeling project, create a Modeling Scenario using the saved query created in Step 4.
- Run the Scenario Bulk Plan action.
- Run the Send Data to Analytics action.
- View the results in the Logistics Network Modeling Dashboard in Logistics Network Modeling Intelligence.
Viewing Results in the DV Dashboard
- Log into OTM as a user with single-sign on access to Transportation Intelligence.
- Then, go to Transportation Intelligence > Data Visualization.
- Open the LNM - FORECAST SCENARIOS data visualization workbench.
- On the Dashboard, filter based on the Scenario GID that you ran the scenario bulk plan on.
The important tables to view are Total Equipment Count by Service Provider and Shipment Details.
