Operational Planning
Diagnostic Log Viewer
This page is accessed by clicking a View Diagnostics button. Diagnostics configuration is set up on the Diagnostic Process Configuration page; accessed via Operational Planning > Power Data > Planning > Diagnostic Process Configuration.
Besides clicking a View Diagnostics button, this page can also be accessed via Operational Planning > Process Management > Diagnostics > View Diagnostics. Enter a Diagnostic Log File ID and click View Results. If no processes were run, or diagnostics is not enabled, the process list will be empty.
The Diagnostic Log Viewer page opens and displays process steps, entities, start and end time and status, so you can see the sequence of events and whether they were successful. Two of the statuses are Success and Failure. Remember that these are process statuses and Success may not always be good nor may Failure always be bad. For example, the message may be Success for bundling orders but you may not want them bundled.
Processes vary depending on the process performed. For example, for building shipments, some of the processes you will see are: evaluating itineraries, evaluating rate offerings, and evaluating rate records.
The Diagnostic Log File ID link at the bottom of the screen enables you to get to the Diagnostic Log File screen.
- If you do not have access to view logs, you will not have access to view diagnostics, since both use the same infrastructure. The View Diagnostics button does not display along with the View Log button if you do not have access to View Logs. If there is an icon with a "v" after a word, such as Process Step in the header, you can click it and a pop-up window opens with additional information such as the Tree Level. Click the "x" to close the pop-up.
- If there is an Expand icon, you can click on it to view sub-process steps.
- If a Failed Mode Rule appears, you can click it to check for possible failure reason solutions if you have any defined.
- Click the Export button to export the Diagnostic Log File.
- Click the Filter button, if you want to limit the data returned by either process, status or entity.
