Configure Auto Print for Documents in Output Interface

When an Outbound Load is shipped/loaded, Auto-Printing of documents (for example., Bill of Lading (BOL) and Commercial Invoice) can be configured in the Output Interface Configuration UI. Auto Printing is completed via a printer, or the documents are sent via an Email based on the event trigger that has been configured.

For Example, an event like Outbound Load being Shipped (and/or Loaded) can trigger the generation of the documents (BOL and/or Commercial Invoice) and can be automatically printed/emailed through the Output Interface.

Output Interface Configuration UI

You can configure generation of 'Bill of Lading and Commercial Invoice' Documents through the Output Interface Configuration UI. To configure auto-printing:

1. Go to the Output Interface Configuration UI.
2. In the edit pane, select from the ‘Interface Type’ drop-down, ‘Bill of lading’ or ‘Commercial Invoice.’
3. From the Interface Format drop-down, select ‘Other’.
4. Click Save.

Note: ‘Interface Format’ is a mandatory field.

Output Interface Target UI

After the 'Output Interface Configuration' screen is setup, navigate to details screen (Output Interface Target UI).

Complete the following steps to configure the sequence of the document to be printed or emailed:

1. Create a record by clicking on ‘+’.
2. In the create pane, enter the sequence number in the ‘Sequence Nbr’ field.
3. From the Interface Protocol drop-down, select ‘None’, ‘Email’, or ‘Printer.’ .
4. When the Email protocol is selected, you can enter the email address in the ‘Email’ field.
5. When the Printer protocol is selected, you can configure the printer through the ‘Printer’ drop-down.
6. By default, the ‘Enabled’ checkbox is not active. You can enable the target to which the output interface file is to be sent by ‘checking’ the box.

Note: All in the fields in the create/edit pane will be frozen except the relative fields to the Printer or Email option selected in the Interface Protocol field.

Note: If you don’t need to print or email the document, then you can select the ‘None’ drop-down value. The BOL document will still be generated and is visible in the Output Interface UI. However, the Commercial Invoice document won’t be visible in the Output Interface UI.

Event Trigger UI

You can create the Bill of Lading and Commercial Invoice trigger records in the Event Trigger UI. Documents (BOL/Commercial Invoice) will be auto-generated at the time of the configured trigger.

To configure the Event Triggers:

1. From the ‘Event Triggers’UI, Click (+) and enter the following details:
   1. Entity: Outbound Load (as the documents will be printed based on the status of the OB Load)
   2. Status: Loaded/Shipped (the document generation is triggered when the configured status is change
   3. Document: Bill of Lading/Commercial invoice
   4. Sequence: Enter any sequence number by which the document is to be printed or to be mailed.
2. By default, the ‘Enabled’ checkbox is active. You can disable the event trigger functionality by unchecking the box.
3. Click Save.
