Label Templates

  • LPN labels are printed based on the base label format (Inbound_Container_label). If an Inbound_Container_Label has been customized using label designer and configured through the label template under Label Type “IB Container”, then the LPN Label will be printed in the format specified in the template.
  • Case labels will be printed based on the base label format (UOM_Case_Label). If a UOM_Case_Label has been customized using label designer and configured through the label template under Label Type “UOM Case Label”, then the case label will be printed in the format specified in the template.
  • Pack labels will be printed based on the base label format (UOM_Pack_Label). If UOM_Pack_Label has been customized using label designer and configured through label template under Label Type “UOM Pack Label”, then the pack label will be printed in the format specified in the template.
Note: For more details about Label Designer, see the Document and Label Designer Guide.

Rules-based Label Template Selection

You can configure multiple label designer templates for a label type, based on specific user configured rules.

To configure rule-based label template selection, do the following:

  1. Go to the Label Rules Engine UI.
  2. Click the “+” button to create a new label rule.
  3. Enter a name for your label rule.
  4. Select the Label Type from the drop-down menu.
Note: On selecting Inbound LPN as Label Type, the Selection Type drop-down is enabled. You can choose between “From IB Shipment” and “From IB LPN”. This determines the source of the data for the configured label designer template.
  5. Enter the screen name. Search for the module instance of the specific module using the advanced search.
Note: If the screen name is left blank, this rule will be applicable to all screens (UI and RF) from where printing can be invoked for this label type.
  6. Select your newly created label rule and click the Details icon.
  7. Click the “+” button to create the details for the rule.
  8. Configure a sequence number and choose your desired label designer template (from the drop-down list).
Note: Enable/set the “Match Unconditionally Flag”, if you wish to ignore the selection rules for that sequence. By default, this flag is not set/unchecked and so the system will consider the configured selection rules.
  9. Click Save.
  10. To configure the selection criteria, select the specific sequence/label designer template and click the “Selection Rules” button.
  11. You will be navigated to the Selection Rules sub-screen.
Note: You will see a folder icon (); this can be one of the two “Complex Operations”, i.e, AND/OR. For this complex operation, you can create multiple nodes having “Basic Operations” (selected from the drop-down) and the criteria, by selecting from the list of different column names related to the label types and its related entities.
    • To create a new basic operation, select the complex operation and click on “Insert Basic Operation”.
    • Select the SQL operator, column name and column value.

Similarly, you can also add nested complex operations by clicking on “Insert Complex Operation”. This creates a complex operation under the selected complex operation.

  12. Click Save.

Similarly, you can configure multiple sequences/templates with different selection rules, for the same rule name/label type/screen name.
