Oracle SQL Developer is a free graphical tool for database development. With SQL Developer, you can browse and update database objects, run SQL statements and SQL scripts, and edit and debug PL/SQL statements. You can also run any number of provided reports, as well as create and save your own. SQL Developer supports migrating 3rd party databases to Oracle.

1194.21(d) Sufficient information about a user interface element including the identity, operation and state of the element shall be available to assistive technology.   • Meaningful icon/image/object identification is maintained.
  • Labels are displayed for the objects within the application and they have been programmatically associated with the control and satisifies the platform accessibility APIs.
1194.21(e) When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

  • Meaningful icon/image/object identification
  • Images have consistent meaning throughout the product.
1194.21(f) Textual information shall be provided through operating system functions for displaying text. The minimum information that shall be made available is text content, text input caret location, and text attributes. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

Textual information is provided through standard Java. The Java calls are responsible for making operating system function calls.
1194.21(g) Applications shall not override user selected contrast and color selections and other individual display attributes. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • Color: The product functions normally in terms of rendering objects in the appropriate color (black or white, with the possible exception of images) when there is a high contrast theme set in the operating system.
  • Fonts: Large fonts disrupt the clarity of the text in the application. For example, in the SQL Worksheet if you increase the font size, then the clarity of the text decreases.
1194.21(h) When animation is displayed, the information shall be displayable in at least one non-animated presentation mode at the option of the user. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

This product was tested for:

  • Provision of a non-animated presentation mode for any animation.

The progress bars are the only animation in the product. The progress feedback is also available though text.
1194.21(i) Color coding shall not be used as the only means of conveying information, indicating an action, prompting a response, or distinguishing a visual element. Product has been developed to conform to this standard subject to the remarks on the right.

The product was tested for:

  • The meaning conveyed by any use of color is duplicated in text or other means.
