Oracle Accessibility Conformance Report

VPAT® Version 2.0 - October 2017

Name of Product:

Oracle Berkeley Database (updated) 12.1.6.1.0

Product Description:

Oracle Berkeley Database is a family of embedded key-value database libraries providing scalable high-performance data management services to applications. The Berkeley DB products use simple function-call APIs for data access and management. It is designed to provide highly reliable, scalable, and available data storage across a configurable set of systems that function as storage nodes.   As an embedded database, it does not come with a user interface. There is no installation required. Any user interface to the database would have to be created as part of the application program.

Date:

30-Mar-2018

Archive Note:

This VPAT applies to only version 12.1.6.1.0 prior to 21-Feb-2020. It does not apply to any versions of Oracle Berkeley Database after this. This VPAT has been superseded by Oracle Berkeley Database (updated3.1) 12.1.6.1.0.

Notes:

This VPAT does not cover the following product areas:

  • BDB is an embedded library that gets compiled and linked into a custom application. The library is accessed via a set of C APIs and there is no graphical user interface.  The custom application is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and usage of the database as well as any user interface.   Since this VPAT is specific to Oracle Berkeley Database, it does not cover the user interface created by any custom application.
  • The PDF documentation is excluded

Evaluation Methods Used:

Oracle's policy is to design, develop and test both products and documentation to be accessible. The recommended styles of testing for accessibility include: (i) algorithmic automated tests, (ii) human judgement tests such as tool-assisted tests, visual inspection and manual operation, and (iii) testing with assistive technology by people with and without disabilities. Additional information about Oracle's accessibility program is available on http://www.oracle.com/corporate/accessibility/index.html
