When the \G terminator is used, records are displayed in a vertical non-tabular format. MySQLAdmin Client displays mostly single line non-interactive returns separated by blank lines. Several commands such as "process list" render very complex output, however these command are also available in the MySQL Client as "show processlist" and here the command will accept the \G line terminator and display the output in a vertical non-tabular format. Similar duplicated commands include "show status" and "show variables". Other clients follow the same model as MySQLAdmin and have mostly single line non-interactive information returns.
