Product Description:

Oracle Big Data Service is an Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) optimized for acquiring, organizing, and analyzing big data. It combines open source and Oracle software solutions to deliver a complete big data solution.

It comes with the following integrated software :

  • Oracle Linux (Oracle)
  • Oracle Java HotSpot Virtual Machine (Oracle)
  • Cloudera distribution including Apache Hadoop (3rd party)
  • Cloudera Manager (3rd party)
  • MySQL Database Standard Edition (Oracle)
  • Oracle R distribution (Oracle)
  • Oracle Big Data Manager (Oracle) including Zeppelin (3rd party) notebook interface

An option to Big Data Service is Cloud SQL.  Cloud SQL's Query Server uses an embedded, zero maintenance Oracle Database to query data in Hadoop.
