Section 1194.21 Software Applications and Operating Systems

1194.21(c) A well-defined on-screen indication of the current focus shall be provided that moves among interactive interface elements as the input focus changes. Product has been developed to meet this standard subject to the remarks on the right Indication of the focus is not always clear in the left-side panels when navigating though the page with the Tab key . The read-only control that might require user action does not show indication of a focus. Bug 9006398 tracks this issue.

Screen reader jumps to the top of the page when user continues tabbing through the controls after reading several items in the chooser control list. Bug 9260087 tracks this issue.

1194.21(d) Sufficient information about a user interface element including the identity, operation and state of the element shall be available to assistive technology. When an image represents a program element, the information conveyed by the image must also be available in text. Product has been developed to meet this standard subject to the remarks on the right "Recording" image is announced as "start recording" when it changes the status to "Stop recording". Bug 8737894 tracks this issue.

Some images representing file types are not read by the screen reader. Bug 8738557 tracks this issue.

Error messages at the top of assistance pages are ignored by the screen reader. Bug 8710718 tracks this issue.

Script record activation is not announced by the screen reader. To continue correct reading information on the rest of the page - on IE press CTRL F5 to clear the virtual buffer. Bug 8633988 tracks this issue.

Screen reader doesn't read disabled text boxes containing no data. Bug 8764421 tracks this issue.

Charts in Diagnostics monitoring dashboard console are not accessible by the screen readers, though the underlying data for the charts is available from the harvested data log and on monitoring pages. Bug 9456200 tracks this issue.

1194.21(e) When bitmap images are used to identify controls, status indicators, or other programmatic elements, the meaning assigned to those images shall be consistent throughout an application's performance.
