17.5.3 Editing or Deleting a Remote Server
Edit or delete a Remote Server from Shared Components.
To edit a Remote Server:
- Navigate to the Credentials page:
- From Workspace Utilities:

On the Workspace home page, click App Builder.

Click Workspace Utilities.

Click Remote Servers.

- From Shared Components:

On the Workspace home page, click App Builder.

Select an application.

On the Application home page, click Shared Components in the center of the page.

Under Workspace Objects, select Remote Servers.

- From Workspace Utilities:
- On the Remote Server page, click the name of the Remote Server.The Edit Remote Server dialog appears.
- To delete the current Remote Server, click Delete. Otherwise, edit the appropriate attributes.
Tip:
Remote Servers which are referenced within an application cannot be deleted.
- To edit the General attributes:
- Name - Enter a descriptive name.
- Static Identifier - Enter a name for the remote server object here. Remote Server names must be unique within the application.
- Server Type - Select either:
- REST Data Source
- Authentication
- Print Server
- Endpoint URL - Enter the base URL of the remote server.
- Prompt on Install - If On, APEX prompts for the Endpoint URL after the application has been installed into another workspace.
- HTTPS Host Name - The host name to be matched against the common name
(CN) of the remote server's certificate for an HTTPS request. It can
also be a domain name like
*.example.com
. If NULL, the host name in the given URL is used.HTTPS Host Name only displays if you are using Oracle Database 12.2 or higher. - Comments - Enter any comments or notes. These comments only display within App Builder and never display when running the application.
- To save your changes, click Apply Changes.
