3.5.3 Accessing the Universal Theme Reference App

Run the Universal Theme Reference app to learn about features and best practices when using the Universal Theme.

The Universal Theme Reference app offers an introduction to the Universal Theme and provides details and examples of design features, template components, template icons, and reference information on a variety of topics such as migrating to the latest Universal Theme, building buttons, utilizing color, using CSS variables, and using template directives.

To access the Universal Theme Reference app:

1. You can access the Universal Theme Reference in two ways:
   • Access a hosted version. Go to https://apex.oracle.com/ut.
   • Install the app in your workspace from the Gallery.
2. To install the Universal Theme Reference app in your workspace from the Gallery:
   1. Navigate to the Workspace home page.
   2. Click the Gallery icon.

      The Gallery page opens, displaying cards for Sample Apps, Starter Apps, and Custom Apps.

   3. Click Sample Apps.
   4. Find Universal Theme Reference and click Install.
   5. Click Run to view a rendered version of the application.

      The Universal Theme Reference appears.

3. Click the Main Navigation menu to explore the Universal Theme. Options include:
   • Getting Started
   • Design - Highlights key features of the Universal Theme including colors, navigation, grid layout, page templates, theme styles, and mobile patterns.
   • Components - Describes and provides examples of available components such as regions, lists, and buttons.
   • Icons - Describes and provides examples of available icons.
   • Reference - Provides reference information and best practices. Available topics include migrating to the latest Universal Theme, building buttons, utilizing color, using CSS variables, and using template directives to control how substitution strings and content is processed.
