6.2 Adding a New Page Using Generative AI

Add a new page using Generative AI and enter natural language.

Note:

This feature requires you create a Generative AI Service and enable the Used by App Builder setting. If no Generative AI Services are available in the workspace, the Create App Using Generative AI option in the Create Application Wizard is hidden. To learn more, see Managing Generative AI Services.

When create a page using the Using Generative AI option, the APEX Assistant appears and guides your through the process of creating page.

The example that follows builds page on the sample dataset, Project Data. To learn more about installing a sample dataset, see Using Sample Datasets in Oracle APEX SQL Workshop Guide.

To create a new page using Generative AI:

  1. On the Workspace home page, click App Builder.
  2. Select an application.
    The Application home page appears.
  3. Click the Create Page button.

    Tip:

    You can also access the Create Page Wizard in Page Designer by clicking the Create menu and selecting Page.

    The Create Page Wizard appears.

  4. On Create a Page, accept the default option, Using Generative AI.

    APEX Assistant prompts you enter a message.

  5. Enter a message:
    1. Type your message here - Describe the page you want to create by specifying the page type and the data or tables to use. For example:

      Create a report on EBA_PROJECTS

    2. Click Send Message (or press Enter).

      APEX Assistant displays a brief summary outlining the page to be created.

  6. Review the summary. If needed, enter more messages to change the requirements.
  7. When you are satisfied, click Create Page.
    The Create Page Wizard appears.
  8. Review and edit the attributes as needed. To learn more about an attribute, see field-level Help.
  9. Click Create Page.
