Creating and Modifying Target Groups

You can create and modify a named group of targets.

About Target Groups

A super auditor can organize multiple targets into a group to grant auditor access to them in one operation instead of individually.

Oracle Database Security Central provides a set of preconfigured group names related to compliance categories, for example HIPAA or DPA. You can add targets to these groups to generate the specific compliance reports related to those databases.

Creating and Modifying Target Groups

You must be a super auditor to create and modify target groups.

Creating a target group

1. Log in to Oracle Database Security Central Console as a super administrator.

2. Select Targets.

3. Select Target Groups tab in the left navigation menu.

4. Expand the User-defined groups section.

5. Select Create in the top right corner.

6. In the Create Target Group dialog, do the following:

   1. Group Name field: Enter a name for the target group.

   2. Description: Optionally, enter a description for this target group.

   3. Select targets to add to the group.

   4. Select auditors to receive access to the target group.

   5. Select Save.

Modifying a target group

Both pre-configured and user-defined target groups can be modified. Modify a pre-configured target group to add targets and user to it.

1. Log in to Oracle Database Security Central Console as a super administrator.

2. Select Targets.

3. Select Target Groups tab in the left navigation menu. A list of User-define Groups and Pre-configured Groups are displayed on the screen.

4. Expand the appropriate section.

5. Select the name of the target group to modify.

6. In the Modify Target Group dialog, perform any of the following modifications:

   1. Change the Group Name.

   2. Optionally edit the Description.

   3. Select targets to add to the group.

   4. Select auditors to receive access to the target group.

   5. Select Save.
