Policy Management

In Oracle DBSecCentral audit, Database Vault, Database Firewall, SQL Firewall, and Alert policies can all be managed from the Policies tab in the console. Use the Policy Console to view a summarized policy status and manage policy retrieval across your fleet of databases.

Retrieve or Schedule policies for multiple Oracle Database targets

Before you begin, ensure the target user has sufficient privileges granted for audit policy management. An administrator can grant these using the Oracle Database Setup Scripts.

To schedule or retrieve policies:

  1. Select all the targets which you want to schedule or retrieval.

  2. Click on Schedule Retrieval.

  3. Select all the ‘Policy type’ you want to schedule the retrieval (Audit, Database Vault, Oracle SQL Firewall)

    Note: SQL Firewall policy retrieval can be scheduled only for target version 26ai or later.

  4. (Optional) Select Retrieve immediately.

  5. Select Create/Update schedule and provide the schedule info.

  6. Click Save.

Redeploy policies when global set is modified

This section is displayed only when there are policies available to be redeployed.

To redeploy a policy:

  1. Select all the targets which you want to redeploy.

  2. Click on Redeploy.

  3. Select the policy type (only policy types that needs redeployment will be listed here).

  4. For DV policies, you need to provide the DV_OWNER credentials if it is already not a part of the session.
