In this test configuration, there are two servers, which can be a bare metal server or a VM guest. Each server or VM gues worker node, has instances 1 and 2 of an Oracle RAC database both on the same worker node.

On Worker node 1, there are two pods on a single bare metal server node. Each Pod has an Oracle ASM instance (instance 1 on container 1, and instance 2 on container 2), a database instance (instance 1 on the first Pod, and instance 2 on the second Pod), and each has an Oracle Clusterware instance. Database instance 1 and 2 of the cluster connect to shared storage with the Oracle Database data files.

On Worker node 2, there are two pods on a single bare metal server node. Each Pod has an Oracle ASM instance (instance 1 on container 1, and instance 2 on container 2), a database instance (instance 1 on the first Pod, and instance 2 on the second Pod), and each has an Oracle Clusterware instance. Database instance 1 and 2 of the cluster connect to shared storage with the Oracle Database data files

Because both the database instances of each Oracle RAC Database are on the same bare metal server, if the Worker node host that contains the two Pods suffers a failure, then both instances of the cluster database become unavailable to provide services. For this reason, the configuration should only be used for testing, and not for production service.
