Session Parameters

The following initialization parameters configure the behavior of the In-Database Agent Runtime. They are database initialization parameters rather than fields in an Agent Spec or parameters of the DBMS_AI_AGENT APIs.

ParameterAccepted valuesDescription
_kdae_parallelTRUE or FALSEEnables or disables concurrent execution of eligible work represented by ParallelFlowNode and ParallelMapNode.
_kdae_fv_flushing_thresholdIntegerSets the threshold at which accumulated Agent execution statistics are flushed to persistent statistics storage.
_agent_node_max_iterationsInteger; maximum 1024Limits the number of model-and-tool iterations permitted during an Agent execution.
_kdae_json_schema_show_validation_reportTRUE or FALSEControls whether a detailed JSON Schema validation report is included in an ORA-50700 error when JSON Schema validation is enabled.
_kdae_json_schema_enable_validationTRUE or FALSEControls whether the runtime validates an Agent Spec against its JSON Schema while parsing the specification.
_kdae_structured_genUSER, NATIVE, or AUTOSelects how an LlmNode requests structured output. USER relies on format instructions supplied in the prompt. NATIVE uses provider-native structured-output support. AUTO adds the required format instructions to the prompt.
_kdae_agent_tool_callingUSER, NATIVE, or AUTOSelects how an Agent invokes tools. USER uses the prompt-based protocol. NATIVE uses provider-native tool calling. AUTO uses native tool calling when supported, otherwise falls back to the prompt-based protocol.
_kdae_native_tool_call_limitInteger; default 32; maximum 256Limits the number of native tool calls accepted from a single model response.

Parameter settings can alter validation or execution behavior for every affected Agent Spec. Confirm the applicable setting and scope for the target database release.
