19.15.5 Connection management

Connections are medium of communication with your Oracle Autonomous AI Database. It contains information that helps in authenticating with database instances and accessing data from a spreadsheet.

The connections feature lets you manage and connect to multiple Autonomous AI Databases with a single add-in. Multiple connections can be created. Each time you start the Add-in for Excel, use Connections to connect to the databases. However, only one connection can remain active at a given time.

The connection panel lets you connect to the Autonomous AI Database through a connection where you provide the login credentials and access the Autonomous AI Database.

Within the Connections panel, you can:
  • Create or delete multiple connections using a single add-in.
  • Share connection information by exporting and importing connection information to a file.
  • View existing connections.

Selecting Connections opens the Connections wizard.

Note:

This is an implicit type of connection. Refer to Authenticate using Implicit connection to understand more about implicit connection.
