Create a New Vector Database User Using SQL

Complete the following steps to create a new Vector Database user using SQL.

1. In the Database actions dropdown list, select SQL to use a SQL Worksheet.
2. Run the following SQL statements:

   -- Create the user
   create user <VECTOR_USER> identified by "<PASSWORD>";
   
   -- For on-premises deployments, add these roles
   grant db_developer_role to <VECTOR_USER>;
   grant create mining model to <VECTOR_USER>;
   
   –- For ADB-S, add these roles
   grant db_developer_role, oml_developer, oci$resource_principal to <VECTOR_USER>;
   
   -- Enable REST
   exec ords_admin.enable_schema(p_schema => '<VECTOR_USER>');
   
   -- Set Quota
   ALTER USER <VECTOR_USER> QUOTA UNLIMITED ON data;
   
   --For ADB-S: Enable resource principal
   EXEC DBMS_CLOUD_ADMIN.ENABLE_RESOURCE_PRINCIPAL(username => '<VECTOR_USER>');
