1.2.7.1.2 Adaptive Settings (For Service Statistics Alerts Only)
For service statistics alerts, when you select Adaptive Threshold in the Logic for Expression panel, you need to continue to configure the Adaptive Settings. It specifies a past time of which the metrics data are used for comparison with current time collected data. If the comparison result meets the criteria you set in the metrics evaluation expression, an alert is reported.
- Daily: the average or aggregated metrics data of one day is compared for evaluation. You can select one day of the past 30 days.
- Hourly: the average or aggregated metrics data in one hour of a day is compared for evaluation. You can specify how many hours ahead (-) of or after (+) current hour in one day of the past 30 days.
For example, if you define an adaptive alert evaluation expression for the response time metrics and specify Adaptive Settngs as “Hourly, 1 day ago,-5 hours”, the average response time between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm yesterday will be used for comparison with each response time data collected during 6:00-7:00 pm today.
The Per Service Instance is only available for the time-related metrics, of which average data is calculated. When this option is checked, the metrics data collected from each service instance is evaluated against the historical average data.
