5.4 Backing Up Files
There are certain files that you need to back up prior to the installation and then restore after the installation is complete. Any modifications that you made to these files are overwritten when the new Oracle Tuxedo software is installed.
Follow these steps to avoid having to modify these files again:
- Back up the
RMfile to a temporary location. TheRMfile contains database vendor-specific settings that are used by commands such asbuildtmsandbuildXAJS. It is located in thetux_prod_dir/udataobjdirectory, wheretux_prod_diris the directory in which you installed the Oracle Tuxedo. - Back up the
CATNAMES,jrepository, andjrly.configfiles. TheCATNAMESfile is located in thetux_prod_dir/localedirectory. Thejrepositoryfile is located in thetux_prod_dir/udataobj/jolt/repository/directory structure and thejrly.configfile is located in thetux_prod_dir/udataobj/jolt/relay/directory structure. - Move any files that you added to the
tux_prod_dirdirectory to a temporary location. - After the installation is complete, restore these files to their original locations.
