Configure the Rich History Database Profile for the Deposit Token Application

You use Blockchain Platform Manager to create a profile for the rich history database.

You must meet the following prerequisites:
  • Blockchain Platform Manager access to create rich history database profiles and create instances.
  • An Oracle AI Database that is reachable from the Blockchain Platform Manager and from the computer where you run the ORDS script. The database must be provisioned.
  • A database user account approved by the DBA to connect, read the rich history tables, create or replace views, and administer the ORDS objects that are required by the script. The DBA must grant the required object and ORDS administrative privileges for the selected schema.
  • The following information from the DBA: the database endpoint and connection string or TNS service alias. The database username and password. Network approval for Blockchain Platform Manager to reach the database.
  • If the database uses a wallet-based TLS connection, an extracted Oracle wallet .zip file, supplied by the DBA.

Do not place the wallet or any other production secrets in source control. Store database passwords, wallet files, OAuth client secrets, and bearer tokens in an approved secret management system.

  1. In Blockchain Platform Manager, select Configuration.
  2. Select Rich History Database.
  3. Select Add New.
  4. For Database Type, select Oracle Database.
  5. Enter a unique name for Config Name. Use a name that makes the environment and purpose obvious, because this name is required later when you create an instance. For example, use a name of the form <environment>-deposit-token-rich-history-oracle.
  6. Enter the database username, password, endpoint, and the connection string supplied by the DBA.
  7. If the database connection requires a wallet, upload the wallet package.
  8. Do not select Use Database Blockchain Table unless specifically required by your DBA.
  9. Select Save.
  10. Validate the profile by confirming that it is displayed when you select Configuration > Rich History Database and that the selected type is Oracle Database.
If Blockchain Platform Manager reports a connection failure, correct the database endpoint, connection string, credential, wallet, or network rule before attempting to create an instance.
You can now create the instance and deploy the application.
