Here’s an overview of the new features and enhancements that were recently added to Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition for Besu.

Release 26.3.1 - Limited Availability - September 2026

Feature Description
Besu support Oracle Blockchain Platform now supports Besu for permissioned blockchain applications built with Solidity and the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). You can provision Besu based instances from the Blockchain Platform Manager. This release includes new functionality to support centralized identity and access control, role-based access, rich history deployment, smart contract management, and governance across infrastructure, wallets, APIs, and smart contracts.

Digital assets Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition now includes smart contracts, SDKs, and sample applications that you can use to work with digital assets.

Wallet service for Besu Universal wallet as a service (UWaaS) is a component that you can deploy to provide a custodial wallet service.

Updated Blockchain App Builder The GUI and CLI versions of Blockchain App Builder now include support for projects based on Besu.

Identity and access control Oracle Blockchain Platform Enterprise Edition now includes enhanced LDAP and OpenID Connect support, including delegated administrative roles and more automated identity configuration.

Shared rich history service Participant environments can connect to the rich history database, a shared external service to store and access historical blockchain activity.

Smart contract registry The smart contract registry provides a central location to register and discover smart contracts used by digital asset applications. Contract metadata can include the version, owner, purpose, and descriptive tags.
Policy/rules manager Reusable business policy rules are provided that can allow or block actions for organizations, instances, wallets, and assets.
