The image shows the workflow for installing and configuring Essbase independent deployment.
  1. Start by reviewing the prerequisites and considerations.
  2. The next step is to plan your Essbase environment. Oracle recommends using separate disk volumes or directories for the software binaries, Essbase application data, and WebLogic domain configuration.
  3. Check whether Oracle Java 8 is installed on your system. If not, you must install Java 8 before proceeding. For the supported JDK 8 versions, check the System page of the Essbase Certification Matrix in Getting Started with Oracle Essbase.
  4. Before installing Essbase, you also need to install Fusion Middleware and a relational database, such as Oracle Database.
  5. Once you have installed both Fusion Middleware and a relational database, you can start installing Essbase.
  6. Essbase requires the relational database for Repository Creation Utility (RCU) schemas, which are required for metadata storage. You can either pre-create RCU schemas or choose to create them during the configuration stage.
  7. After Essbase is installed, you can start configuring it using the Configuration Tool.
  8. You can log in to the Essbase web interface after successfully installing and configuring.
