• Put plans into the PLAN table - ttOptSetFlag
• Prepare command - SQLPrepare
• Examine PLAN table - SELECT * FROM SYS.PLAN
• Set various optimizer hints - ttOptSetFlag
• Prepare command again - SQLPrepare
• Examine PLAN table - SELECT * FROM SYS.PLAN

Repeat steps beginning with "Set various optimizer hints" until plan is fully optimized.
