5. How do I arrange for special accommodations for an Oracle Delivered exam?

Due to privacy and legal restrictions, Oracle cannot provide verification of certification status to third parties such as employers, employment agencies, or government agencies without the candidate’s direct involvement. Candidates must initiate the verification request using the self-service 3rd party verification tool accessible via Oracle’s certification portal, CertView. Please instruct the individual wishing to verify their Certification credential to you to follow the steps below.

12. Why is Oracle changing the levels of Certifications it offers?

Effective April 2022, all Oracle exam titles/badges will fall under a simplified structure.

For cloud certifications, the change will impact all of the 2022 exam releases (retiring 2021 and earlier titles are not impacted).

For all other certifications, exam titles earned will be replaced as applicable, during the month of May.

16. What is Oracle Testing ID?

Your Oracle Testing ID is your unique identifier for the Oracle Certification Program. It is important that you only maintain one Oracle testing ID and that you take all exams and submit all forms through Pearson VUE under a single Oracle Testing ID. This ID may have been referred to as ‘Prometric ID’ or ‘Candidate ID’ in the past. This was not the Sun Candidate ID.

No. Your exam score is not included on your certificate. In many cases, you may have passed more than one exam to obtain certification. Exam scores are only provided on your score reports.

20. When Oracle releases a new version of my certification, do I need to upgrade?

Recertification is a common practice in the IT industry. Oracle Cloud technology is moving at a lightning pace. The recertification policy is implemented to enable you to best support your customers, partners, and projects. Hence, you need to stay current with the latest training and certification.

If your certification is not impacted by the Re-Certification Policy, there will be no changes to your badge. If your certification is impacted by the Re-Certification Policy, the badge will be inactive until you upgrade to the latest certification.

34. Can I change my name/photo in the score report?

No, you cannot make any changes to name or photo in the score report. This is the reason we recommend that you give accurate information before taking up the exam in the testing center. The name on the score report will be exactly as it was updated at the testing center.

46. I have 1) passed all of the Oracle Database exams in my certification path and 2) have completed the required training, but I did not complete the course submission form before the credential retired. Do I have to start over?

You have 6 months from a credential’s retirement date to complete the course submission form and receive the certification. You must have passed all exams prior to the retirement date. After the 6-month grace period, if you still have not completed the course submission form you will be required to start over.

47. If I hold multiple retired Oracle Database credentials, do I need to upgrade all of them to keep my credentials active?

For Oracle Database Certifications, you only need to upgrade one to a current certification to remain active. For example, if you hold Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Associate, Professional and Master credentials, you only need to earn Oracle Database Administration 2019 Certified Professional to maintain all of your Oracle Database 11g Certifications in “active” status.

50. How can I add the OPN Specialist designation to a credential I already hold?

If you are a member of a partner organization, you can obtain the OPN Certified Specialist designation on any OCA, OCP, OCE, or OCS credential that boasts this specialization by entering your OPN Company ID at the time you create your web account at PearsonVue. This is the most crucial step. You must include the correct OPN Company ID or you will not receive the OPN Certified Specialist designation and your company will not receive credit for your certification.
