12.7 Components of Oracle Exadata Storage Expansion Rack X5-2

Oracle Exadata Storage Expansion Rack X5-2 is available as a quarter rack. It includes the following components:

  • 4 Exadata Storage Server X5-2 Servers with 1.6 TB NVMe PCIe 3.0 High Performance SSD or 8 TB 7.2 K RPM High Capacity SAS disks (in earlier releases, the high capacity disks were 4 TB)

  • 3 Sun Datacenter InfiniBand Switch 36

  • 2 redundant 15 kVA PDU (single phase or three phase, high voltage or low voltage)

  • 1 48-port Cisco Catalyst 4948E-F, model number WS-C4948E-F-S Ethernet switch

  • 12.8 TB of raw flash capacity for high capacity storage servers only

  • 51.2 TB (expandable to 76.8 TB) raw storage capacity for high performance disks, or 192 TB raw capacity for high capacity disks

(In the list above, for raw capacity, 1 GB = 1 billion bytes. Capacity is calculated using normal space terminology of 1 TB = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 bytes. Actual formatted capacity is less.)
